The Billings Mustangs opened the second half of the Pioneer League season on Tuesday night against the Great Falls Voyagers, but the game was suspended by rain in the top of the ninth inning with the Mustangs leading 7-6.

Great Falls struck first with an unearned run in the opening inning before Billings answered in the second. Bodee Wright launched a three-run homer to put the Mustangs ahead 3-1.

Each team scored once in the fourth, Billings on a Kyle Micklus solo home run, but the Voyagers rallied with four runs in the sixth to jump in front 6-4. The two runs to put Great Falls in front were both unearned after a throwing error on a strike three in the dirt.

Julian Garcia turned in another strong outing, pitching eight innings while allowing six runs, only three of which were earned. The right-hander matched a season high with 10 strikeouts.

Trailing 6-5 entering the ninth, the Mustangs mounted a comeback. Cameron Bowen hit a go-ahead two-run shot to put Billings back in front 7-6. Michael Soper followed with a single and advanced to second on an error with one out before rain intensified, forcing the game to be suspended.

The game will resume on Wednesday at 6:30pm with the Mustangs batting in the top of the ninth and will be followed by Wednesday's regularly scheduled game.
